Dry Hair Tip

Hair Tip Tuesday: Let's talk Dry Hair!

This time of the year my hair has been feeling and looking dryer than usual. Is anyone else with me? The winter makes my hair dry & brittle, more tangley and harder to brush!

UGHHHH!

HOW CAN WE MAKE IT BETTER?

Here are a few things you can do at home to fix those dry ends.

(1) Switch your shampoo and conditioner to one that is more moisturizing.

Masks are also great for this time of year also. (Biolage 3 Butter Control System Overnight Mask, ~$25)

(2) Give yourself a deep conditioning treatment at home at least once a week.

Put it in your schedule!

After shampooing make sure your hair is toweled dry, than apply a mask on the mid to ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap (or a hot towel) and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. The shower cap will keep in the heat in and help give you a more intense treatment. After, rinse with cold water, it will seal the cuticle, lock in moisture and make your hair smooth.

(3) Try going one more day in between shampoos. Our scalps naturally produce oils that lubricate our hair, some people do not produce enough oils leading to dry hair. If you are shampooing daily avoid using shampoos that say "clarifying", they will strip the naturals oils out of your hair. Causing the lack of luster!

I hope this helps with those dry ends at home. Does anyone else have any tips they use at home for dry ends? Comment or leave some questions.
