As your stylist I want to take the guesswork and anxiety from you clients with low-density, volume-challenged hair. These tips should help achieve the most flattering, volume-boosting styles, based on your face shape.

OVAL
Avoid: Too much volume on top
Best shapes: Most styles are universally flattering on the face shape SQUARE
Avoid: Wide bangs, blunt bob at jaw line will only emphasize sharpness.
Best shapes: Styles with movement to soften features; fullness at temples. ROUND
Avoid: One-length cuts or over-softening an already round shape with too many layers.
Best shapes: Long layers, lob with side part, naturally wavy styles. Create a strong angular fringe or add additional height at the top of the style HEART
Avoid: Short bangs or excessive short layering that can accentuate width.
Best shapes: Jaw-length bobs that highlight the chin; long styles with bangsshow off cheek-bones and create fullness/width at the nape. OBLONG
Avoid: Extremely long, flat hair that can emphasize a long face
Best shapes: Strong fringe will mask a high forehead and give the illusion of an oval shape. Add a side part or create fullness on the sides to balance; above the war line.
