Static Hair Tip

The colder weather is finally here and as soon as winter comes to Arizona we all encounter a bunch of new issues. Our skin becomes even dryer, lips become chapped and hair becomes dryer, flatter and most annoying Static?!? With already low humidity in the Valley of the sun, the lack of moisture brought on with the colder air is the main contributor to this Static Hair. How can we fix this?!?!

Keeping your hair moisturized and hydrated to fight frizz, static and cold weather issues. A deep conditioner is recommended during this time of year weekly. Matrix Total Results Moisture Me Rich Shampoo & Conditioner was designed to replenish moisture and add radiance to dry hair. For a deeper conditioner I love Matrix Total Results Pro-Solution Total Treat Mask.

Use a leave in conditioner to prevent fly-aways, which one tell tale sign of dry hair. KeraColor Purify Plus or Its a 10 are great leave ins for locking in moisture to help prevent breakage.

A quick fix is to carry a small bottle of leave in conditioner or hair oil in your handbag. Rub a small amount in the palm of your hands and run your fingers through your hair, the moisture in the product will eliminate the electric charge that causes static and allow it to be more manageable! Moroccan Oil mini is a great travel oil!

Shampoo less often. We talked about this in the last post about Dry Hair. The more you shampoo, the more natural oils are being washed off your hair. Try shampooing every other day!

Pull it up and out of the way. Protect the ends of your hair by wearing it up in a bun or braids. Constant rubbing on fabric can cause split ends. If you choose to wear it down, trim regularly so split ends don’t stand a chance!

Hope this helps with the Static Hair! Does anyone else have any tips they use at home for Static? Comment or leave some questions. Til Next Time! Ali
