Co-Washing

Have you Heard of this new routine called "Co-Washing"?

Co-washing is short for “conditioner-only washing", meaning skipping shampoo and relying solely on conditioner, whether you’re a daily or a weekly washer. The result is something between squeaky-clean and second-day hair—that is, smoother, softer, and easier to manage.

Twice a week, Only use conditioner on your hair.

You might think your need to shampoo every time you wet your hair, but you don't. Every two days, apply conditioner instead of shampoo and rinse it out. Conditioner contains a tiny amount of surfactants( what shampoo uses to cleanse your hair, and also a small amount of oil in the product attached itself to hair oil cleansing it away.

All Experts agree that co washing is best for woman with thick, coarse, dry hair.

If your hair is already thin or fine, co-washing will not add texture, it will only make your hair flatter and oiler. However during the winter months when our hair is drier than normal, co washing can be a great way to replenish dry hair and get life back into it.

Try adding it into your routine once a week.

Apply the conditioner starting at your ends, then work your way up to your scalp.

Does Anyone use this method already?! Let me know!

Til Next Time!

XOXO- ALi Rae
