When to Rebook Your Next Hair Appointment: A Basic Guide.
Not all hair is treated equally! If you have naturally fine or very coarse hair, coloring often or regularly heat styling your locks can make them more prone to breakage. When rebooking your appointment keep in mind this is just a suggested time frame between services.
Haircuts
Book Your appointment: 6-8 weeks
To extend time between cuts choose a cut that doesn't need much maintenance, like long layers. To avoid split ends spread out time between your shampoos and always use a heat protectant such as Its a 10. It has so many benefits to help your hair during the growing process.
Root Touch Up
Book Your appointment: every 4-6 weeks
Sometimes those stubborn greys seem like they have grown in way faster than we would like. Shampoo less and condition more. Shampoo fades color by lifting up hair’s cuticle layer, so stick to three washes a week. However, conditioners help seal color in. Get a root touch up in between any highlight or balayage service to extend the beautiful dimension throughout your hair. Apply a root touch up spray in between visits helps camouflage those roots. I Use STYLE EDIT Root Concealer Touch Up Spray.
✳️Refreshing ALL OVER solid color should be done every other or even on the third root retouch visit. You should avoid putting color all over from roots to ends every time, it causes build up and color banding -especially if you are ever thinking about going lighter!
Toner
Book Your appointment: 4-6 weeks
Many people don't know but a toner can make all of the difference. A toner is a temporary color that shifts the tone of blonde hair or can be used to add a deeper darker dimension to the hair color. I add a toner to everyone of my lightening services to even out color and give the bleached strands consistent color. You can help minimize Brassy blondes by using salon quality blue or purple based shampoo/ conditioner. I suggest once a month putting Shimmer lights purple shampoo all over dry hair before jumping in the shower and sudsing it up!
Highlights
Book Your appointment: 6-8 weeks
Highlights are meant to bring dimension to our hair. Some people like light blonde highlights while others like a level or two lighter than their natural hair color.
Balayage Book Your appointment: 8-12 weeks
Hair painting is the most natural way to get organic dimensional color. Balayage is not used for Platinum blonde because it is lifted with an opened air method. Balayage creates seamless grow outs because it's based off of your hairs natural highlights.
